Welcome to the Joshua T. Waterman House. The second empire house was built by Joshua T. Waterman in 1865. Mr. Waterman was born in historic Hudson, NY in 1807. His family was originally from Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He was connected with the business affairs of the Hudson Branch of the Hudson and Albany railroads and also served as the Mayor of Hudson for four consecutive terms beginning in 1853.
Joshua and his wife, Jeanette Ten Eyck had twelve children... a fact that makes this grand and spacious house, with three stories and a tower, seem not so spacious after all.
The house is now a beautiful B & B used for a relaxing weekend getaway hotel or for lodging for a local’s wedding guests.
